Sri Lankan fast bowler Suranga Lakmal retires from international cricket after tour of India

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday announced;

That Sri Lankan fast bowler Suranga Lakmal will retire from international cricket after the tour of India.

In his ODI career against India in Nagpur in 2009

Lakmal took 168 Test wickets in 68 ODIs, 109 wickets in 86 ODIs and 8 wickets in 11 T20I matches.

I am so grateful to be associated with the Board that shaped my career and enriched my personal growth

I am indebted to Sri Lankan cricket for giving me this wonderful opportunity and for trusting me to bring back the honor of my homeland.

Lakmal submitted his retirement letter to the SLC on Wednesday.

“I have the utmost respect for my players, coaches, team managers, staff, managers and all the supporters,” Lakmal added.
