The International Olympic Committee announces the 2021 winners of the Women and Sports Awards

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Thursday;

Announced the winners of the IOC Women and Sports Awards 2021.

Playground. The World Award was presented to Tokyo 2020 President Hashimoto Seiko during the 139th IOC Session in Beijing.

Hashimoto was presented with the final report on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by IOC President Thomas Bach and IOC Women’s Sports Commission Chairperson Lydia Nasekara.

They also announced the winners they saw.

Winner for Africa: Natsirishe Maritza (Zimbabwe), USA Winner: Figure Skating Harlem (USA), Winner for Asia: Zhang Xia (China), European Winner: Carrie Fasting (Norway), and Oceania Winner: Tracy Holmes (Australia).

Hashimoto, who received his trophy, said;

“I am committed to promoting gender equality throughout my life. It is an honor to see these efforts recognized today with this trophy.

Positive change in our community through the power of sport, we welcome your continued guidance.”
